(Misty Mountains Campaign)-The Council of Imladris sends word to the Warders

Khalis stood with Lord Elrond in Imladris speaking of the recent ceremony to welcome the new Maethor, Sil on the balcony over looking the falls. He never felt at ease around his Lord as he did with his sons Elrohir and Elladan, but then he had not spent as much time with Lord Elrond as he had with the twins. He recalled one of the many times he rode into battle as part of Elladan’s company and the natural charisma held by all of their family line. As his mind wandered and his ears took in the sound of the falling water he was brought back to the present as the Warbands patron mentioned the Council of Imladris.

“Lord Khalis” Elrond spoke “ The Council is concerned with rumours of happenings in the Mountains looking down on Imladris. I have no need to impress upon you the importance of keeping the mountain pathways secure I am sure.”

Lord Elrond at this point took a drink from his glass of wine and looked over a file of paper he had in his hands no doubt from the Council.

“The threat from the mountains has been greatly reduced after the recent forays of the Order of the Hammer into the region. There is news though coming from a few travellers from that region that there are some unusual occurances not associated with the goblins.”

Lord Elrond at this point looked up into the eyes of the captain pausing for a moments as if choosing his words carefully.

“ The Council wants a survey done of the pathways in and around the mountains mapping out anything which could be problematic over the next few months whether they are natural or not. “

Listening to the words of his Lord well Khalis recalled his previous travels through the cold region. Of how he disliked travelling through the snow!

“ Lord Khalis” Elrond began to speak again, “ In carrying out the wishes of the Council I want you also to take to the time to be obvious in what you are doing where it seems applicable. A possible show of force by way of the banners of Imladris might be all that is required to remind them of the strength of the people of Imladris.”

Khalis acknowledged the wishes of his patron and spoke a little longer on logistic matters before taking his leave of his Lord to begin to make plans for the coming months.
