The Warband's Second Expedition into the Lost Temple

Pre-expedition

After a previous expedition to the lost temple failed to achieve all that was hoped, the leaders of the Warband have requested that myself and Azgarzir of the Leutha Maethor attempt a second venture into the temple. We are to be accompanied by both Lady Elisbeth and Lord Khalis.

Examination of samples taken previously from the diseased mercenaries and from the dark relics that poisoned the area gave some insight into the nature of the illness which plagued the area surrounding the temple; the poultices and herbs I have prepared will hopefully be sufficient in protecting us from all but the most virulent of the diseases we will encounter.

Post-expedition

Better prepared than last time, we fought our way into the interior of the temple with greater ease than before. Many vile undead were found within, along with diseased and corrupted worm-like creatures that were singularly unpleasant.

I knew less of the history of the temple than I would have liked, fortunately the shades we encountered within their tombs told an interesting story: They claimed to be three brothers, three kings; they fell to the corruption of Angmar and so the kingdom of Rhudaur did also fall.

I made a note to investigate the temple once more in light of this new information once we returned to the safety of Imladris.

We finally encountered the gaunt lord known as Ferndúr the Virulent and after a challenging fight, put an end to his plans within the temple.

On a personal note, it is my hope that my investigations into this matter on behalf of the warband will also provide information and new insights for my own research.
