With Abellinda away visiting her sister I have returned to Bree-Land after seeing that Brynal's babes were safe. When I returned I met with Eorran and he told me to be at the west gate in a couple of days for the ride north to make our camp. Before I headed to the gate though I filled my belly with some venison and no more than a half pint of ale. I would have needed to keep my wits about me, I feared.
When I reached the west gate there were already a large amount of my fellow countrymen gathering and talking amoungst themselves. It was near the stables that I met up with Eorran, the man whom told me about this march south. I also saw a few other faces I reconised but one of them stood out amoungst the ever growing crowd. Emreg Belthen was mounted on his steed, the moonlight shinning off his armour. I said nothing to him but just kept my attention on Eorran.
After a short while the leader of this march appeared. Full plate amour he donned. The man's name was captain Aueryll. After the captain called for silence, he had it soon enough. The captain gave a heart warming speech to the men and soon after we were split into our groups. By my shock though I did my best to hide it, they named me commander of the archers. I was honoured to accept such an office for the time being. We then mounted our steeds and departed from the gates of Bree and out into the fresh morning air. The sun was just rising and despite the little bit of wind it was a rather glorious crisp morning. The birds were singing sweet songs from their nests in the many trees and the fish were rising up from the deeps of the river which flowed along to our left.
I named a man called Eorland my second archer. He seems a strong willed and loyal man to me. We road for about a quarter of the day before we reached the horsefields where we would be setting up our war camp. There the men would train and come up with fresh riding formations.
I did my duty as commander of the archers. I sent some out to hunt and gather wood and others to scout the surrounding areas. The rest of the time I tried to spend alone but somehow another man or woman always seemed to appear. All I can do now is do my duty and perpare myself and "my" archers for war....
