Jazilin -- Old Journal of Childhood page 2

I have fashioned a bow to defend myself with when I go to the woods. I have yet to make a quiver of arrows, but I've been working on a side project for my bow.

I carved a little wolf into the wood of my weapon. I believe I shall call it Draug Sereg, Sindarin for Wolf Blood. Once I finish the arrows, I will practice. I learned to make this bow from an old Elf who came by recently, while my father was away on one of his journeys. An odd character for sure, but he taught me to balance my weapons! He also taught me a bit of Sindarin. What a flowery language... Of course, before he could teach me much, my father came at him aggressively, armed with a chair. He probably wasn't happy that a stranger was training me...

After a few days, I finished a few practice arrows. I walked outside with my weapons, and standing on the dirt road was the old Elf! He told me that someone would have to teach me. And he did!

I won't go into detail exactly what he taught me of archery, but I know he did a good job. After a few weeks of practice, he taught me to hunt animals like rabbits, geese, and deer. Surely now I'll never go hungry again!
