Never have I been so busy within the Mithdirith, we have had a recent intake of those whom have pledged to serve and be of service to the Flower, Lindon and Eriador.
An Elleth whom I first encountered in Imladris (Hallothel) joined me on my return from the Vale and has since joined the Herth, her skills as a tracker and hunter were keen indeed but lacked some self-confidence. During our journey back we had many lengthy discussions; she was deeply fascinated with the Flower and held it in high regard. I can recall our first encounter in the Vale to be a little awkward for myself, she bestowed a great deal of respect whence learning I was a Warden to the Flower. None the less we have grown in friendship and it was not long before it was clear to me this was someone whom would not only benefit to being a part of the Mithdirith but also the Mithdirith would also benefit greatly from her skills and expertise.
It was odd to return and see so many new faces, but at the same time gladdening to know so many were willing and ready.
Shortly after my return I had been given another task, Faelach, whom had very recently become fully a part of the Mithdirith was to be assigned to me, I would be asked to be a mentor and an instructor during Faelach’s next phase. I will confess I did not feel ready but I understood the need and requirement.
It was strange to be present at the mustering and then be asked to depart early taking Faelach with me, while leaving behind so many whom had other tasks or drills to perform. It was however a good thing so many were now represent, able and willing. I have no doubt Aearandir will have his hands full.
I took Faelach on a short patrol and used the time to get to know him more, to learn his methods and motivations and hopefully pass on some of what I have learned. In my estimation thus far, he is a diligent Ellon, with duty at the forefront of his thinking. He was clearly proud to wear the ‘Blues’ and as we passed through the lower parts of Ered Luin he was ever courteous to all whom we met.
We shall conduct this routine a few more times to ensure he is familiar with the route before a more lengthy excursion is required.
I was proud to see and hear that Hallothel was progressing well, in part I feel responsible for her, so whenever time permitted we would catch up, she was a buzz with questions and clearly very happy to be here in Thamas Lorn.
Alas I must prepare more now.. and the next few days will bring the Festival of Flowers, sadly I will be on duty, but I have no doubt I will see and hear from afar the many Eldar gathering.
