Elf Lord Prisoner (part four)

Arvaryar was considered slain by most of the Eldalië: the few who knew his true fate were a couple of Eladlië he considered friends, or more than friends... and of course the Naugrim Allrin.

He encoutered many things in his adventures that lead him to Lothlorien and then to Mirkwood but none of them are particularly interesting to be told in a tale, one that followed his arrival to Mirkwood is though. But to truly understand that tale one must know of the character he encountered there, and Elda of Old, Loremaster of GreenWood, once Tur of the Laiquendi Order and much respected Elf that sailed West years ago for he grew weary of the world but in fact he never reached the Undying lands...

Here follows the tale of that Elf and how Arvaryar took part in his fate:

The Tale of Hir Clill

Clill, Tur of the Laiquendi Order, grew weary of the World and decided to sail West with other Elves who shared his pain and suffering in the Mortal Lands... His departure was a great grief to his kin and many came to say goodbye to the weary Loremaster.

Shortly after its departure the Ships of the Teleri was attacked by the dark men of Umbar, who were under the command of a powerful Dark Numenorian.

Lord Clill, being an ancient Loremaster of Old, called upon the Might of Ulmo to destroy the enemy ship. Yet the ship of the Umbarians was drawing closer, Clill
leapt heroically in the waters in-order to draw attention away from the ship, he prayed to Ulmo, Osse, Unien to summon their waves to stop the pirates: he did manage to slow the progress of the dark men. But he could not destroy them. His powers weakened, and he was captured... His ship was destroyed, the fate of the Elves of that ship is unknown, perhaps rescued by the other ship sailing with them.

The man of umbar wanted to slay the Elf  But their captain, the Dark Numernorian, spared him, saying that there will be much more use for him if they sell him to the Tower of the Necromancer, in Mikwood.

It took more than a year for those plunderers to deliver the Elf to the jailors of Dol Guldur, and the poor Elf was chained in the ship. He was no longer himself after seeing the countless raids uppon the brave men of Gondor. At long last they  arrived to the south eastern coast of Middle Earth. It was right under the Forest of Mirkwood, where stood the Evil Tower.

The Umbarians did not dare to go inside the forest for they still feared the Elves that once dwelt there and the spiders that were known to love man flesh (no matter their aliegence). They met with some representatives of the Tower: A sorcerer and some Orcs, that offered a not-so modest price for the Elda, knowing somehow his age and value. The evil band of orcs carried the prisoners through the wood and brought him inside the tower. Many years he was jailed in the tower, with terrible food (orc soup) with almost no water, awaiting he knew not what.

One day Clill was brought outside to cut the woods for the orcish bonfires. It was on this day that a self-banished Elda appeared and was about to slay the orcs that left their tower.
That Elda was only seeking death (of orcs and his own) for he was of the forgotten kind of Elves: the kinslayers. The warrior Elda attacked the orcs that were gathering woods, to his surprise one them was not an orc at all...

The Noldo (of course it was Arvaryar) released the green elf, Poor Clill was lost in his own nightmares and did not belive, at first, that he was freed from his captors. They fled from that dreadful place.

The Laiquendi Lord spoke at last, only after some days, recognizing the Noldo.

"I did not hope to see one of my kind again...Ar..Arvaryar, it was so long ago"..

"I am no longer called that, and I surely not belong to your kind, my kind is evil and forgotten"

"Yet you were the one who saved me from those monsters"

"I only thought to destroy them... I thought you sailed west by most accounts"

"I was captured...but.. Noldo, I thank you for you help, but perhaps I must be by myself, it would be better if you leave me, I see no future before me now..."

"Leave you? I have done too many wrongs in this world to leave you dying, I will bring you to Eriador, to your kin, there you can decide of your fate, I will not interfere with that"

"So be it...though what fate is there for any of us..."

And they spoke no longer.

Arvaryar healed the Green elf as well as he could, and set him on his horse, guiding him to Eriador, to the sanctuary of the Laiquendi Order.
