| Outward Appearance | Bannister is a tall and rather thin man in his middle thirties, as far as Men measure time. He is lean and well built, yet he walks around with careful, slow steps, like a predator. Or a thief.. If asked, he answers softly and slowly, in few words and with an obvious rohirric accent. His deep blue eyes are always in total discordance with his slow moving appearance: swiftly moving from one side to another, from one corner to another. He is almost always dressed in a hunter's garb and never parts with his long yew bow and the two daggers hung at his belt. |

Background
Bannister was born in 2981, in Aldburg of Rohan, as the only son of lord Wealda, master of the hunt in the household of Eomund, Marshal of the Eastfold Mark.
Marshal Eomund died in 3001, killed by orcs in Emyn Muil. Alongside died Bannister's father, Wealda. After the tragedy, Eomer son of Eomund and his sister Eowyn went to Edoras, to live with their uncle, Theoden King. Bannister, now 15 years old, is raised by his mother's relatives, known mischiefs, dubious characters in Aldburg, with connections in the underworld.
In 3006, 20 years old Bannister lives on a small farm in the Eastfold, close to Aldburg. People say (usually behind closed doors, or in whispers) that he is one of the poachers and hunters who plague the forests of the king, a trapper by night, an honest farmer by day.
When Eomer returns to Aldburg as Third Marshal of the Mark (around 3014 T.A), Bannister joins his retinue, as a hunter and guardian of the forest.
In the summer of 3017 T.A., Third Marshal of the Mark Eomer officially dismisses Bannister from his service. His advisors privately ask Bannister to become the Marshal's eyes in the North. Bannister departs on a scouting mission in the Bree Lands, a place he reaches in early 3018 T.A., after many perils and adventures on the way.
