Themodir

Losgael put the final stitches to the tapestry she had been working on for the last months, putting forth her skill to depict the tale of Themodir and Manadhlaer. Time had become more sparse since she had joined the ranks of the Hammer, but she had returned to this work whenever she could.

This account was written by Norliriel for the healers and scholars of Imladris, to aid their research regarding the goblin poison that led to Themodir's demise.

We found Themodir within the goblins' slave pit, senseless and tied to a stake. I deem he had been thouroughly ill-treated. He could be roused, and was wakeful enough to speak words of thanks to those who freed him, but collapsed upon being cut loose.

It appears I do not have to cook much today. There are still much food after the feast of unveiling Anglachelm's portrait, and I have to get yet rid of some of it, somehow.

In the Hall of Fire elves gathered, summoned by their Lord Anglachelm.

The warm humid air was heavy with the cloying perfume of sweet jasmine and tuberose. Slowly the light shifted, brightening from the soft grey light to the whiteness of a new day. He became aware of voices lifted in greeting and opened his eyes.

A tall, thin elf in a long burgundy robe was smiling at everybody. He seemed to be very well known, and spoke softly using a language Laelas could not decipher.

Yesterday evening he was disinclined for conversation. Oh yes, he has appetite, but no relish, and after eating he is downhearted and anxious.

The tramp of steel-shod boots grated upon pale flagstones as Makanárë strode up the path, face grim. Overhead, the stars glimmered pale and distant, while the closer lights of Imladris blinked and faltered  in the cool breeze. Her steps did not waver, feet leading her up a grassy knoll until she stood beside a simple cairn, newly made.

So spoke the Kinslayer,

Mindful of hardships,

Of fierce slaughters,

And the downfall of Kinsmen.
