The eldest daughter of a horse-breeder from Rohan, Vaarion spent her life on the farm of her parents, taking care of and bonding with the horses. Unlike her two younger sisters, who are much more interested in boys and pretty dresses, Vaarion takes the work on the farm seriously and is planning to one day take over the work from her father.

Recent times have been hard on the horse farmers in Rohan though: thefts, tithes from the king and neighbouring realms and the constant threat of war have been decimating the breeders' stocks. Desperate to replenish his herd after a slew of thefts believed to be instigated by Mordor, Sigelbert turned his hopes westward and crossed the Misty Mountains with his daughter to find new stock...
