Warm Embers

Is this a good idea?

I keep asking myself this, but I have been back too many times. Each time, I regret it. No... I cannot go back. Though I may love my home comforts, and am not fond of the great wilderness out there, I cannot stay any longer. To dream of fire and to drink wine each night can no longer get me through. There is no looking back for me any longer.

I decided to camp at the base of Weathertop for the night. The hill is far too steep, and the wind is far too cold to try and rest atop it, but I found a small crevice in the rock that will keep me hidden from view and sheltered from the elements.

However, I came across a strange discovery. Crates. Out in the middle of nowhere, there are crates stashed between the rocky outcroppings. I know not what they're for, and I will not crack them open to satisfy my curiosity, but it has become an itch I cannot scratch.

There is a campfire, just round the corner from them. The embers are still warm, and I wonder if someone will come for them.

My intrigue seems to be winning out. Whilst I rest here for the night, I will keep an eye out to see if anyone returns for them.
