Dear Mother and Father,
This weeks GDF was both fun and perhaps frustrating isn't quite the word I am looking for, nor is disappointing, but I can't think of the right word right now. It started out well enough, Miss Orleanda (who is Jardic's cousin) and few of the other hobbits greeting me in a very friendly way and I think I may have found a friend. At least, I hope so. Master Ponso turns out to be a hobbit of many talents. Not only does he know all about fishing and hunting, and is a very good dancer, he's also a talented poet!

He recited a very clever one about all the different Festival drinks you can find and where. I always feel so welcome at the Green Dragon. Though I must say there seemed to be more dwarves this evening than hobbits! Perhaps the regulars were at the Lithe Festival. Not that I have anything against dwarves, you know Rua by now, my guardian. It just seemed a little odd that so many of them were gathered in a hobbit inn.
Master Simbo didn't let that stop him from organising the evening though, since Miss Lina was still away. The music started out pleasantly enough and I ended up dancing with Master Ponso, who is really rather good. Though he does have a slight smell of fish about him, I didn't let that stop me from enjoying the foottapping we shared. But then Master Simbo did the unthinkable and let people play the bagpipes! They weren't bad tunes, I'll admit that, and I could have stomached it if it wasn't that later, Master Simbo played Miss Lina's hopping song on the bagpipes himself! The scandal of it! It hurt my ears so I could hardly hop.
Oh and to top it all off, Jardic arrived, late as usual, and suddenly Master Ponso was nowhere to be seen! Though I did see him outside when it was time for fireworks. Which are very pretty as well, but must we fire them off every friday? I mean, I enjoy them as much as anyone, but like alcohol, one can have too much of a good thing and then it becomes commonplace. It loses its specialness.
On the journey home, someone advised Jardic to get a pony, so he could keep up the better with the rest. I do think that's a very good idea. I shall see if the farmer where we got Marshmallow and Peppermint has any for sale.
Once we got home, I just wanted to go to bed, but Jardic said he was going to "borrow" mushrooms from the Grand Order's mushroom tent again for breakfast. I did my best to stop him, but he just laughed at me, saying they would never miss a few, and even if they did, good neighbours "borrow" from each other all the time. After trying to convince him otherwise and failing, I decided to go to bed and leave him to it. I just don't know what to do about his cheekiness. I don't suppose you have any advice for me, Mother and Father? For I sorely need some when it comes to Jardic! Should I turn him out of the burrow? But then Rua would be so disappointed. And I would feel terrible. But now I feel terrible for the neighbours, having their mushrooms "borrowed". What should I do?
Your loving Zara
