Dangerous Beasts - volume two - Trolls

Trolls. A dangerous Species indeed, though it can so etimes be difficult to tell one from another. It is unknown to most that their are six kinds of trolls!

•Cave-trolls - a large, stone colored variant of troll that is highly vulnerable to light and will turn to stone upon contact with it. Found only underground, in abandoned mines (Moria, for example) and natural caves.

•Hill-trolls - A monstrous breed of troll that is adapted to a nomadic life in the hills. However, this doesn't mean they are irrelevant, and they have worked along side the armies of Sauron before, carrying huge hammers and storming into battle. They are generally 9-12 feet tall.

•Mountain-trolls - Larger and more ferocious than hill Hill Trolls, everything else is very similar.

•Olog-hai - A much different variation of troll, standing an average of ten feet in height and having emense strength like any other troll, with the exception of the fact that they are in fact as intelligent as Urak-hai, and speak black speak.

•Snow-trolls - A very rare variant of trolls, that's existence in a whole is open to debate, as they are stuck mostly in legend. But according to this legends, they are hostile towards everything (including the forces of Sauron) and very unintelligent.

•Stone-trolls - a semi intelligent, and more common variant of troll. Capable of spacing black speak, but also living independently of shadow, and learning western. However, this does not mean they are a big misunderstood creature that only wants a hug, they are very dangerous, and have about the intelligence of a 9 year old boy, with the self control of a 4 year

Now, reguardless of what kind of troll it is, they are all tough, and they are all stronger than you. So how do you fight them? Pole-arms, is the answer. You cannot hope to kill a troll with a dagger, and the only way to get through all it's thick leathery skin is with a really long blade at the end of a stick, be it a halberd, a spear, or anything else along those lines. If you have a ranges weapon, aim for the eyes. Of it doesn't kill it, it will at least blind it (though this might only make it more dangerous if you are combating a cave troll on a narrow pass).
