I.... I can't really believe it. I'm going to get married soon.. With a lady that I met during my time with the Theatre. She already looked at me and spoke about me back then... Always looking down at her boots or playing with her hair when she spoke to me. A very talented musician and a person of wit.
We met again in Bree when I was walking around town and we took a walk to Staddle. We sat down on a hill and started to talk, some easy and teasing puns flying around. And then, after a moment of silence I found my hand automatically looking for hers. She took my hand, as if she was expecting it. We looked at eachother and smiled. She leaned her head on my shoulder and looked up at the sky while I was moving around a small round object in my pocket...
I was thinking and time seemed to stand still, but somewhere I already knew I was going to do it. I took my hand out of my pocket with the object clenched inside it and held in front of her. She asked me what I was holding and looked at me. I smiled and said that I might be rushing things and that it was quite sudden. I opened my hand and there it was: the golden ring covered by silver lines and decorated with two small rubies on both sides of a small polished adamant. She glared at it in surprise as I asked her to marry me. She said nothing and held up her hand for me so I could put the ring around her finger. I did and all of a sudden she launched herself at me, catching me by surprise and making me fall over onto the ground. And then she said it: ''Y-Yes!''
We talked some more before we both had to take our leave, sadly. Better start writing my speech for the wedding... Should be superb for the most special occassion in this writer's life...
